The International Foundation Programme at Solent University is designed specifically to support students in the transition from an overseas High School education, to undergraduate study in the UK. Alongside language development units, students will also build their confidence and independence, developing their study skills. The inclusion of subject-specific pathways prepare students for their chosen subject area, enabling them to familiarise themselves with some of the theories and terminology that they can expect to encounter at undergraduate level.
This particular pathway develops students knowledge and skills in business and management, with a particular focus on external business pressures and management theory.
In the fashion management with marketing degree at Solent University students will study the complete range of professional disciplines within fashion, from retailing, store management and operations to consumer behaviour, fashion buying and merchandising. Students will also have opportunities to gain practical, hands-on experience, leaving them well-prepared for a range of graduate roles.
The course places a strong emphasis on gaining practical skills and work experience. Past students have had the opportunity to set up their own business at Solent's stunning student-run store, Re:So, which sells a unique mix of fashion, accessories, publications, furniture and art.
Throughout the course students will also have the opportunity to go on a range of trips to gain valuable industry insight. Recent trips have included visiting Primark’s largest store in Birmingham and having a guided tour of operations, visiting TM Lewin’s head office, and engaging in live projects for Fat Face.
