About Bachelor of Arts - Communication
The Communication major provides graduates with tools critical to communicating effectively in an ever-changing global workplace. Effective communication skills are essential for almost any field of work and a Communication degree is a strong building block to develop these skills.
Students can expect to develop a practical skillset including oral and public presentation skills, advanced research and writing skills, conflict mediation techniques, and strategies for effective interpersonal and relational communication.
Communication students are encouraged to become members of student organizations such as COMMrades and Lambda Pi Eta for service and networking opportunities or to try out for Southeast’s award-winning debate team. 100% of Southeast programs offer real-world experience. Learners earn this experience through an optional internship or practicum experience. Upperclassmen have opportunities to oversee public events while earning course credit.
