Graduate Certificate - School Library Media Specialist - Initial Certification

The Graduate Certificate in School Library Media – Initial Teacher Certification offers the opportunity to gain certification as a K-12 teacher in Connecticut. This program welcomes both mid-career professionals seeking a career change and recent graduates with an interest in teaching and school libraries.  As the only program of its kind in Connecticut, with nationally recognized faculty and a statewide network of professional support, the program welcomes inquiries and interest from potential students with all types of undergraduate degrees and professional backgrounds.

The teacher certification may be combined with dual enrollment in the Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program, with the completion of the additional requirements.

Applicants must complete the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators exam to be considered for admission to the program.
