Bachelor of Science - Fashion Design

St. Kate’s fashion design majors have small classes with one-on-one mentorship from expert faculty, learn to transform inspiration into innovative design, and make clothes for real bodies — while balancing sustainable, socially responsible practices.

Students will be prepared for a career in creative design, fashion entrepreneurship, historical costuming, patternmaking, styling, technical design, and CAD. During both junior and senior year, you will present a collection at St. Kate's annual Katwalk fashion show, recognized in Twin Cities fashion circles as an event to spot rising stars. A required internship and real-world course projects provide hands-on rich experiences. Students can take advantage of the opportunity to study for a semester or year at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, London College of Fashion, Acadia Fashion Institute in Florence, or other approved off-campus study programs.
