About Bachelor of Science - Community Health
Program Description
This is a program that prepares individuals to serve as facilitators, advocates, and referral professionals linking health care and related social services with affected recipient communities. It includes instruction in public and community health, human and social services, health services administration, group counseling, health education, group advocacy, cross-cultural and multilingual communication, and applicable laws and policies.
Students must take 15 credits of Community Health program requirements at SCSU (excluding HLTH444: Internship, General, HLTH446: Internship, Community Health and independent study courses). Additional transfer credits may be approved as electives with advisor permission. Admission to the major does not guarantee admission to the required internship program.
