About Bachelor of Science - Earth and Space Science/General Science Education - Grades 5-12
Program Description
This is a program that prepares individuals to each earth and space science or general science education, at the grades 5-12 level. This program provides a strong foundation in physical sciences and mathematics, hands on experience, and more.
A State of Minnesota teaching license requires completion of the subject area major, completion of the Professional Education Sequence, and passing grades on the appropriate tests and assessment processes required by the State of Minnesota Department of Education. In order to complete the program in four years, students must:
- Not complete the core or liberal education in the first two years – they need take the introductory science courses.
- Not need remedial work in high school math (i.e., not need MATH 070, 072).
- Take AHS 205, 305 and 307 when indicated--these are only offered one time per year. (If students find these courses closed at the time of registration they should contact the department before looking for an alternative course.)
