Bachelor of Arts - Philosophy

Philosophy is not just one discipline amongst others. It is unique, not just because it asks questions about the most fundamental and important things, but also because, unlike other disciplines, it isn’t optional: whether St. Thomas University know it or not, all of they are already doing Philosophy. St. Thomas University cannot escape it; they can only decide whether to do it well or badly. 

St. Thomas University carry within ourselves certain basic convictions about what is true, what is good, etc. And yet, they also wonder about these convictions, doubting them, calling them into question. Philosophy is this wondering and questioning. As such, it is indispensable for developing a clearer understanding of themselves and their world, and for living their lives responsibly.

Applicants with an overall IELTS score between 5.0 and 6.0 or an overall TOEFL score between 61 and 88 may be offered acceptance on the condition that they enrol in English as a Second Language support at St. Thomas. Applicants with an overall IELTS score of 6.5 or higher or overall TOEFL score of 89 or higher are not required to enroll in English as a Second Language support.
