Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Early Childhood Studies with Early Years Practitioner Status (with a Year Abroad) (X312)

The Early Childhood Studies with Early Years Practitioner Status (EYPS) program offers a comprehensive approach to understanding children from birth to eight years. It emphasizes the importance of early childhood as a crucial stage in life that serves as the foundation for lifelong learning, where children are seen as capable and competent members of society.

Students enrolled in this course must complete a minimum of 700 hours (approximately 20 weeks) of placement in early childhood settings and demonstrate proficiency in National Occupational Standards to meet the standards set by Social Care Wales. Placements are full-time and structured in blocks lasting between five and ten weeks. Upon graduation, students will earn the Early Years Practitioner Status qualification.

Graduates of Swansea University will receive the Early Years Practitioner Status qualification accredited by Social Care Wales.

Potential career paths for graduates include roles in Early Years Teaching, Family and Community Support Workers, and Teaching Assistants.
