Students want a strategic understanding of social media, refined creative skills through professional writing or the communications sensitivity to make an entrepreneurial impact, the MA in Communication, Media Practice and Public Relations (PR) is ideal.

As in any MA level program, the key element is the major project or dissertation that is worth 60 credit and enables students to develop expertise in a specific area of interest. It is important that potential students give this some thought before arriving and have a general idea of what part of communications, media, PR or creative practice that interest them, so that they have a good starting point from where to refine the project with the help of a supervisor.
Students should be computer literate, with a good level of competence using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and so on. While the Microsoft suite can be downloaded for free once enrolled as a student at Swansea University, ideally students should also have access to a computer/laptop that can support this software, so that they can continue with their work when not in the specialist labs.
