For ambitious students ready to start their career, Teesside University's ISC International Year One programme can help students graduate from their undergraduate degree in the typical three years. Students will spend the first year of their degree at the International Study Centre, developing the skills they need to succeed in their degree. Students will then complete their chosen degree at Teesside University – where they will have a voice to shape their own education.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly important in developments in all parts of business and society. This course provides students with knowledge of computer science topics and specialist skills in artificial intelligence, opening the door to a range of careers from automotive design to health care.
Students develop strong theoretical and technical knowledge and skills in computer science as well as specialist knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence, which will provide the directly transferable skills for a career in the artificial intelligence industry.
Students explore state-of-the-art technologies, concepts and theories supported by a thriving active research community. They gain specialist knowledge and experience in the development of intelligent systems. Topics studied include machine learning, agent-based modelling, intelligent support systems, planning and logistics, virtual agents and hybrid algorithm design.
