About Master of Science - Strength and Conditioning for Performance and Rehabilitation
Taught by University expert staff with input from industry professionals, students develop heir learning from previous study. Various elements on the course are aligned with UKSCA (The Professional Body for Strength and Conditioning in the UK). accreditation pathway.
Students graduate with the ability to:
1. Apply contemporary science to sports performance and rehabilitation
2. Apply coaching science in a performance and rehabilitation setting
3. Provide critical reasoning in the selection/ implementation of training/testing
4. Contribute effectively to a multidisciplinary team
5. Reflect critically on experiences and continually develop their practice
Students develop their academic and practical coaching skills, learning through seminars, practical coaching sessions, workshops, online lectures, and an independent research project. In semester one they develop their knowledge of training theory, practical coaching skills and self-awareness. In semester two they build on this knowledge and learn how to apply it in dynamic scenarios, while developing advanced data analysis and presentation skills. Semester three focuses on their independent research project.
