Program Description
This programme provides students who have an interest in accounting or finance with a solid academic background which will prepare them for the workplace or postgraduate training. Students will acquire key technical accounting and finance skills and will also develop their knowledge of a broad range of topics which will enable them not only to understand financial information but also how to link it to broader decision-making. The Accounting and Finance programme at Swansea University can provide up to 9 exemptions from the ACCA professional accreditation, the maximum exemptions available from a UK academic degree.
This Accounting course is fully designed to make students stand out in the job market, for all the right reasons. Practical skills, combined with pioneering, research-based teaching, will give students the real-world know-how backed by essential knowledge, to become a sought-after graduate - for jobs in accounting firms as well as accounting roles within any organisation, across any sector.
Accounting at Swansea is a flexible degree with the chance to study abroad for a year, or work in industry for a year. This can give students a real competitive advantage and will broaden their horizons when it comes to seeking employment. The student's Accounting experience will also benefit from a wide selection of optional modules in later years of study, allowing students to shape the degree towards their career goals.
