Program Description
In Swansea's War and Society degree students will explore the key human challenges of war, peace and conflict, opening up a range of exciting career possibilities by helping them to develop transferable skills, which are highly valued by employers. Students will be taught by leading academics who are specialist researchers in subjects such as American Studies, Classical and Egyptian Studies, History, Politics and International Relations, Literature and Media Studies. There is also the opportunity to study abroad for a semester in Hong Kong, China, Singapore or North America – an exciting and valuable experience which will further enhance students' career prospects.
This degree involves studying across various subject areas, as students examine past cultures up to contemporary culture and the issues affecting the world today, and they can tailor their degree to their own interests with a wide variety of topics to choose from. Students can explore war studies, terrorism, ancient and contemporary war and conflict, human rights and global justice, gender, and conflict in European film.
Swansea's graduates enter careers in a wide range of sectors including: the armed forces, government and politics, humanitarian organisations, journalism and media, and public services.
