About 3-Semester Pathway - Foundation Pathway in Politics and International Relations - Continue to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - History and Politics

Program Description

History and Politics explores how historical events directly influence global politics. Students will learn about British and European politics as well as medieval, early modern and modern history, through subjects including women’s history and gender, public history and heritage. Studying this three-year BA degree course opens up a range of exciting career opportunities by helping students develop skills, which are highly valued by employers. 94% of Swansea's History graduates are employed or in further study within six months of graduating (Destinations of Leavers in Higher Education 2015).

During the three-year History and Politics course students will have an academic mentor for any pastoral and academic support they may need, and The Society of Ancient Studies and History student society organizes social and cultural events. Swansea offers varied and flexible course content, and students can tailor their degree to their own interests with a variety of topics to choose from. Politics modules include conflict and peace, democracy, politics, philosophy, international relations, international security, public policy and political economy.

Swansea's graduates are truly international and enter careers in a wide range of sectors including: Education, Government and Politics, Media and Public Relations, Heritage and Museums, Business, Business and Management, and Law and Public Services.
