English for Academic Purposes (069098D)

Designed and taught by highly qualified and experienced English language teaching professionals, the quality of this course is recognised through its English Australia membership and National English Language Teaching (ELT) Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) endorsement. Students' level of English is assessed before they begin their general Academic English course so that their study duration is matched to their particular needs.

The College’s English language program concentrates on developing the skills students will need to become successful and confident language users. Emphasis is placed on improving their general language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. They will study a variety of topics which are interesting and fun, and relevant to students studying in Australia.

Students are assessed regularly with weekly reviews, reading and writing tasks, speaking and presentations, and ongoing testing. Participation and their classroom use of English are also taken into consideration. The program is based in the classroom with some excursions and activities which take students out into the community to use the language they have learnt.
