For those who have always had a special interest in the care and education of young children and can imagine the joy that comes with helping a child’s learning and development, , the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood & Care: 0-8 Years) is the ideal degree.

This highly-structured and intensive program qualifies students to work with children from birth to eight years, in both childcare and school settings. Designed to be completed over four years of full-time study, the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood & Care: 0-8 Years) is a perfect combination of theory and practice. The program covers traditional subjects such as English, Mathematics and the Humanities plus special early childhood education courses such as Play and Pedagogy. In addition, students will be required to undertake 32 weeks of practical experience in a range of childcare and classroom settings.  A unique feature is that this practicum experience directly counts towards a degree.

Please note: Education students in Western Australia must pass the national Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE). The test is administered externally by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER).  Students must register and pay for the test.
