About Bachelor of Arts - Athletics and Recreation
As an athletics and recreation major, graduates will be ready to lead all types of participatory sports or recreation programs. Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in athletics and recreation program are trained to manage people and resources in recreation, and develop skills to work in settings throughout the industry. The degree also prepares well enough to work in programs for adults, including adult education, senior programs and programming for those with disabilities.
Students will take courses including topics in sport management, communication, and exercise science, developing knowledge in fields such as coaching, sport skill instruction, leadership, event planning, budgeting, risk management, management, athletic training.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in athletics and recreation program at Trine University are prepared to create and administer recreational programs and to succeed in leadership roles in coaching and recreational programming or administration. Students will also know the requirements to maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to maximize athletic performance.
