About Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Fine Art
This inter-disciplinary course helps students develop a wide range of skills – developing expertise across a range of fine art subjects working across a range of media testing the possibilities of what art can be. From exploring drawing to experimental film techniques, to casting in bronze and experimenting with digital technology, students will develop skills for all kinds of possible careers in addition to being an artist. This course makes students adaptable and skilled in ways which have enabled UCA's alumni to become special effects artists, writers, experts in art and social care, illustrators, commercial designers and working within the television and film industry.
As well as learning practical and highly adaptable skills, this course will also help students understand and consider the world around them as they work, and with numerous opportunities to showcase their talents – from live projects, exhibitions, curatorial exercises and work experience – they’ll learn about how their art can be displayed and received by audiences of all sizes and demographics.

As well as the support of staff, students will also receive regular tutorials and lectures from those at the forefront of contemporary fine art – recent visitors have included Gavin Turk, Phyllida Barlow, Richard Wentworth and Turner Prize winner Martin Creed.
And thanks to UCA's industry links with various institutes students will have opportunities to create exhibitions in London and the South East, helping them build their networks and audiences. locate new networks and audiences for their work.
UCA's award winning graduates have gone on to take a wide range of exciting roles, not only within fine art and academia, but also in the film and television industry as production assistants, prop makers on special effects teams, and set designers.
