2-Term Undergraduate Foundation Program - Life Sciences - Continue to - Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Bioveterinary Sciences

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Life Science program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and  Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences. In this course, the students will explore traditional concepts of bioveterinary sciences such as animal health, disease and diagnostics, while developing skills and knowledge in more modern aspects of the field.

The students will study a One Health approach to bioveterinary science. This includes studying animal behaviour and welfare science, social issues, global challenges and communication skills. This course is designed to give them a thorough, yet balanced understanding of the way we live and work with animals and our environment as one.
