About 2-Term Undergraduate Foundation Programme - Engineering and Physical Sciences - Continue to - Bachelor of Science - Architecture

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Engineering and Physical Science program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and  Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.

Based at the University’s Grenfell-Baines Institute of Architecture, the students are provided with an innovative, creative and critical architectural education which explores the pressing issues of our time from a local and global perspective and provide them with an expansive grounding in design, theory, history and building technology. The students will gain experience of all aspects of building design and construction, equipping them to meet the challenges of a low carbon approach to the needs of society.
