About 2-Term Undergraduate Foundation Programme - Engineering and Physical Sciences - Continue to - Bachelor of Science - Computer Science

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Engineering and Physical Science program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and  Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.

The digital revolution is here. Household appliances and vehicles can connect to the internet using software. This rapid data communication provide exciting opportunities for the development of new applications. BSc Computer Science degree will prepare the students for exactly that and they study the theoretical aspects of computer science like computational thinking and apply their understanding to developing solutions to problems using artificial intelligence. The students will learn software development, including databases and user interface design.
