3-Term (Extended) Undergraduate Foundation Program - Humanities and Social Sciences - Continue to - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Sociology

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Humanities and Social Sciences is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and  Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences. 

The students can develop expertise in research and analysis on Sociology course and reflect on and discuss social issues from a local, national and international perspective. The students will gain a deep understanding of key sociological theorists and important issues.
