About Bachelor of Science - Bioinformatics - Biological Science
Bioinformatics bridges the gap between studies in biology and data. Whether students want to unpack findings from genomic studies or pinpoint population data for disease control, students will go above and beyond researching biology. Students will develop the technical skills to produce, collect, analyze and visualize big sets of biological data.
UCM’s interdisciplinary Bioinformatics program curriculum draws from program studies in Biology, Chemistry, Statistics and Computer Science. As a Bioinformatics major, students will start with core courses in Biology, such as Molecular Biology, Plant Biology and Animal Biology, followed by courses in specialized bioinformatics topics, such as:
- Investigative Biology
- Molecular Technology
- Biomedical Informatics
