Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Computer Science

BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree, created in collaboration with BAE Systems, is designed to equip students with both the technical and professional skills needed to thrive in today’s job market.

Throughout this program, the student will dive into exciting areas like software development, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (AI), all while fostering their creativity through innovation, hands-on experimentation and real-world examples.

This programme strikes a perfect balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring them to build a strong foundation in computational skills across various disciplines.

In the first year, student will establish a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including computer platforms and designing solutions for real business challenges. As the student progress' into the second year, they will explore deeper into areas such as computer networks, programming, data storage, and analysis, learning to create advanced software solutions. In the final year, they will have the opportunity to specialise in cutting-edge topics like artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and cybersecurity. Alongside these specialised subjects, they will work on industry-related projects, refining the skills and expertise that will fully prepare them for their future career.

The majority of their learning will take place at our Lancaster campus, where they will benefit from a dynamic academic environment. Additionally, they will have valuable opportunities to engage with employer networks and participate in live projects through our Enrichment Days at our new Barrow campus.
