About Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Biology

Program Description

The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a two-semester program designed specifically for students who are ready to succeed in immersive English-speaking classrooms, but who also want the benefit of English-language and student support to help them thrive. The program curriculum offers a balance of university-wide and AAP-exclusive courses, with English-language course supplements that equip students with the practical, subject-specific vocabulary and skills they need to excel in their coursework.

As an Academic Accelerator student at UDayton Global you'll receive:
  • The right amount of support when you need it.
  • A seat in credit-bearing courses, so you can earn a full freshman year’s worth of credits while taking courses tailored to your needs as an international student. This will help you achieve your academic and career goals.
  • English-language instruction designed around your social and academic needs.
  • Integrated and cohorted courses, so you’ll be in some classes with U.S. students and others with your designated UDayton Global cohort.

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in biology provides you with a general background in biology while giving you the option to pursue a biomedical concentration or environmental/ecological concentration. The biomedical concentration is useful if you plan a career in biomedical research or health care, while the environmental/ecological concentration trains you to explore the environment and the organisms that live in it. Regardless of which track you choose, you will be prepared to begin your career, obtain a postgraduate education in a professional school (dentistry, medicine, law, physical therapy, physician assistant or veterinary science) or attend graduate school (master's or doctoral).
