Bachelor of Design (Honours) - Illustration

Learn how to communicate effectively through visual means and create images that can be used in a variety of ways including in books, magazines, merchandise, and digital media.

Develop skills in research, storytelling and making, using traditional and contemporary production methods. Students will learn how to engage their audience and develop their own professional practice. Peer review from classmates is a big part of University of Dundee's projects and will help them gain skills in critiquing other work.

Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design has digital and printmaking facilities. Students will use them to experiment with a wide range of media, including book and narrative creation, drawing, and graphic arts. There are also opportunities to explore photography, textiles, moving, and interactive media.

Students will have the opportunity to enter competitions and compete for awards. They may also be able to attend D&AD's 'New Blood', which is an international showcase of the best graduates in visual communication and advertising.

University of Dundee's graduates are in high demand. Alumni go on to work for major design studios and organizations including the New York Times, The Guardian, and Time Out, and others have set up their own agencies.
