About Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Physical Education and Sport (X360)
The BA (Hons) Physical Education and Sport degree teaches students the principles of teaching and coaching. The main disciplines include sport psychology, sport and exercise physiology, sociology of sport, and sport policy and development.
By participating in athletics, dance, games, gymnastics, outdoor and adventurous activities and swimming, students will explore the practical areas of the national curriculum for Physical Education (PE).
This undergraduate degree will develop students' contemporary knowledge and understanding of PE and sport, as well as relevant skills for a range of sport-related careers. It is taught at Avery Hill Campus, home to extensive sports facilities and where most of the student sports take place.
As part of their degree, learners will have the opportunity to complete a sport-related work placement so they can put into practice the skills they'll be developing during their time with the University of Greenwich.
The BA (Hons) Physical Education and Sport graduates are equipped to work in a variety of roles within PE and Sport such as teaching (via a PGCE programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status), coaching, sport development and sports promotion.
