About Extended Plus International Pathway Program (IPP) - 4-Semester Pathway + Bachelor of Science - Architectural Design and Technology

Program Description

The architectural design + technology (AD+T) program is a rigorous academic program that prepares students for a variety of careers in architecture and the construction industry. The focus of the program is the design studio in which the technical, structural and liberal arts courses are integrated through the creative process in the design of progressively more complex architectural projects. A strong component of liberal arts, with particular emphasis on communications skills, as well as multiple electives in the later years, ensures that students who pursue this program of study will have the foundation of a challenging architectural education. Students will also gain a broad understanding of the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue advanced degrees in architecture and related disciplines or entry into architecture firms or the building industries.

UHart's AD+T program is designed to prepare students for career success. Their graduates go on to work at companies like Amenta Emma Architects, Crosskey Architects, Disney Imagineers, FIP Construction, JCJ Architecture, S/L/A/M Collaborative, Tai Soo Kim Partners Architects, Tecton Architects, and Turner Construction.

International Pathway Program

Students should be advised that this is the Extended Plus 4-Semester Pathway option for this program. This pathway includes one or more semesters of Pre-Sessional English (dependent upon student proficiency level and progression in English courses) plus 3 semesters of Extended International Pathway.

The International Pathway Program (IPP) is open to students who need to strengthen their English skills before studying a degree program in the USA. The IPP offers undergraduate students the additional support needed for their first year of university study. Students’ academic, social and personal success are ensured while in the program as they prepare to continue on to their degree.

Each semester students will take a combination of Hartford academic courses (credited) and English courses (non-credit). Course options are dependent upon the required pathway. Once students have reached the required English level, they can progress to their program at the University of Hartford.
