Program Description
The profession of Mechanical Engineering truly embodies the spirit of creativity and innovation as it is one of the broadest areas of study in engineering.
This diverse program encompasses key aspects of engineering that deal with the application of mechanics to the design of machines. Pursue careers in industries such as automotive, aerospace, or power-generation, as well as those focused on noise control, mechatronics, and biomedical applications. Select one of six concentrations to expand your knowledge in a niche area to bring to the field, including acoustics, computational, energy engineering and sustainability, manufacturing, robotics, and turbomachinery are available.
UHart graduates have moved on to work within a wide range of industrial and governmental sectors, working on projects that range from designing aircraft jet engines; the manufacture and operation of miniature surgical robots; streamlining the aerodynamics of spacecraft; design and installation of renewable energy technologies; to the optimization of acoustical characteristics of music halls.
International Pathway Program
Students should be advised that this is the Extended Plus 4-Semester Pathway option for this program. This pathway includes one or more semesters of Pre-Sessional English (dependent upon student proficiency level and progression in English courses) plus 3 semesters of Extended International Pathway.
The International Pathway Program (IPP) is open to students who need to strengthen their English skills before studying a degree program in the USA. The IPP offers undergraduate students the additional support needed for their first year of university study. Students’ academic, social and personal success are ensured while in the program as they prepare to continue on to their degree.
Each semester students will take a combination of Hartford academic courses (credited) and English courses (non-credit). Course options are dependent upon the required pathway. Once students have reached the required English level, they can progress to their program at the University of Hartford.
