The International Foundation Year in Engineering, Computing & Science will prepare you to study one of more than fifty degrees at the University of Huddersfield, in fields such as computer science, most engineering disciplines, forensic science, music technology and pharmaceutical science.
You will study core modules, which are general skills subjects, and specialised modules tailored to your chosen area of study, all of which are important for your academic development.
Automation, algorithms and programming of computers is vital to a progressive society, making us more efficient and helping us meet the challenges that ongoing advances in technology create. Our course follows a core computing programme in the first year, giving you the fundamental skills and knowledge to prepare you for more advanced topics.
During this year, you have the flexibility to transfer to other courses sharing a common first year, including Computing BSc(Hons), Software Engineering BSc(Hons), and Computer Science MSci. In your second year and final year, you'll have the chance to take option modules, enabling you to tailor your studies to meet your specific interests.
