About Extended Accelerator - Bachelor of Arts - Polish

Program Description

Extended Accelerator Program (EAP) combines language, culture and academics to give students a deep understanding of life in and out of the American classroom and includes personalized English-language instruction and tutoring.

As a student in the Extended Accelerator, you’ll get:

  • A contextual curriculum that mixes language, culture and academics
  • Exclusive access to a course focusing on life in the U.S. and in the local community
  • A full year’s worth of college credits
  • Extensive English-language tutoring, academic advising and student support
  • Personalized English-language support specific to the classes you take

Together with Germany, Poland is becoming one of the new economic engines of the region. Entry into the European Union has brought funding for a wealth of cultural and scholarly initiatives to Poland in the past decade. For this reason, knowledge of Polish opens doors to students for participation in non-profit, government, scholarly and cultural institutions in Poland, or in business initiatives in Poland – either as part of summer or year-long initiatives, or after graduation.

A Bachelor of Arts in Polish provides important language skills and a solid understanding of Slavic and Baltic cultures. These are a strong asset for many jobs, especially those in the following areas:

  • Federal, state, and city agencies
  • The armed forces
  • National security establishments
  • Banks and businesses dealing with Eastern Europe
  • Publishing and data-gathering companies
  • Transportation and tourist industries
  • Ethnic cultural services and organizations, such as cultural centers, libraries and museums, ethnically oriented public media, etc.
