Engineers are in demand across a broad spectrum of industry, spanning traditional fields such as mechanical and electrical engineering to the emerging fields of artificial intelligence and medicine. Engineers not only satisfy society's demand for improved performance, reliability, and safety of products, they also supply solutions for unforeseen societal consequences that may arise as the result of new technologies.

It also is possible to apply to the College of Engineering as an undecided major if they are interested in engineering but not sure which field they want to pursue.
