About 2-Term Pathway - Foundation Certificate for Business, Law and Social Sciences - Continue to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Chinese Studies and Classical Studies (Honours Select 50:50)
Program Description
University of Liverpool's Chinese Studies programme provides students with the skills to engage fully with China from different dimensions and perspectives, thereby opening the door to truly international employment opportunities. Studying Chinese at 50% will enable students to become fully proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to the language. Students will also deepen their knowledge and understanding of Chinese society and culture. Modules range from learning about ancient Chinese civilization to contemporary Chinese cinema, from Confucius and Laozi to Chairman Mao, from Peking opera to Chinese rock music.
The Classical Studies programme focuses on the societies and cultures of Ancient Greece and Rome. Students will study their literary and visual cultures (including their art and architecture) against the backdrop of the history of the period. The programme also gives students the skills in reading and analyzing the surviving (and sometimes conflicting) evidence that will allow students to reach and present their own judgements convincingly.
