2-Term Pathway - Foundation Certificate for Business, Law and Social Sciences - Continue to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Hispanic Studies and Communication and Media (Honours Select 50:50)

Program Description

Students can split their degree between the study of Spanish language and cultures and another subject of their choice. Studying Hispanic Studies at 50% will enable students to become highly proficient in writing, reading, speaking and listening to Spanish with the option of studying a second Iberian language (Basque, Catalan or Portuguese) from Year Two. Students will spend one year in a Spanish-speaking country (or if relevant, Basque or Catalan speaking region or Portuguese speaking country) as an assistant in a school, as a student at a university or on a work placement.

Media coverage represents the most important method for communicating key issues and developments in most subject areas to the wider world, so Communication and Media makes an excellent partner for 50:50 combinations with another subject. This means that students will find plenty of opportunities for crossover between Hispanic Studies and Communication and Media, but students will still study core modules from both. In Communication and Media, the full range of modules will be open to students in Years Two and Three.
