Program Description

International direct admission is for international students with advanced English-language skills. It focuses on academic, cultural, and professional growth so students can excel in school—and prepare for a successful future.

The Department of Political Science offers a variety of course options in the study of politics to prepare students for both professional success and informed, engaged citizenship in our increasingly globalized world.

The Bachelor of Arts in International Relations gives students the opportunity to explore how peoples and nations interact across political boundaries. Students in the major study international relations from the perspective of multiple disciplines and examine topics such as international political economy, conflict and cooperation, human rights and international organizations, regional and socio-cultural studies, globalization and transnationalism, and international development. Students in this major are able to take courses drawn from many different academic departments and programs at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
