About Bachelor of Applied Science - Psychology
University of Minnesota Duluth's (UMD) Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Psychology focuses on providing students with a firm grounding in the field of psychology. It encourages students to embrace diverse theoretical perspectives and ideas, to develop skills in independent inquiry, and to constructively and ethically apply psychological principles.
The major prepares students for applied careers in human services and graduate education while advancing their personal growth and life-long learning. Students contribute to the advancement of psychology through research and other scholarly activities as well as through fellowship in student psychology organizations.
The Department of Psychology supports the development of reflective and competent research-practitioners versed in using modern technologies. Statistical reasoning and quantitative research methods are part of the major's core requirements.
