About Bachelor of Science - Hydrogeology
Students in this hydrogeology program develop basic skills in math, chemistry, and physics, as well as in geology and geological engineering. Students will leave the program with a sound foundation in physical, chemical, geological and quantitative sciences as a basis for understanding the hydrologic cycle and managing water resources.
In addition to the technical knowledge in hydrogeology and underlying sciences, students in this degree program also develop the skills to read, analyze and communicate scientific knowledge. Professionals with expertise in water issues can be found working in government, private industry, public utilities and educational institutions, so the ability to share technical knowledge with a broader public can be a key skill in this industry.
Hydrogeology majors are also eligible to enroll in the accelerated B.S./M.S. program in hydrogeology. With careful planning, this allows students to earn a B.S. and M.S. in hydrogeology after five years of study.
