About Master of Science - Developmental Disorders

The understanding of various conditions, such as autism, intellectual disability, and childhood mental illness, is to be developed. Through engagement with advanced-level theory and practical work, knowledge will be gained in research methods, diagnosis and assessment, and therapeutic and educational interventions.

The research conducted is renowned and makes a tangible impact in the real world. For instance, Dr Sarah Cassidy was recognized as the ‘Most Impactful Researcher’ by the National Autistic Society for her efforts in suicide prevention. Collaboration with Nottinghamshire Police is ongoing to improve the treatment of autistic individuals involved in incidents. Additionally, resources have been created for teachers to better support students affected by preterm birth.

The opportunity to delve deep into personal interests through the development of a research project will be provided.
