About Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Psychology with Neuroscience (C8B1)

Learn about the structure and functions of the human brain through this challenging and technical BSc Psychology with Neuroscience degree. This course will provide students with a solid grounding in neuroscience and is ideal if one is interested in careers or further study in that area. It will also enable students to move on to further training to become a professional psychologist and is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).

The first two years of the course provide a broad overview of psychology, and are required for BPS qualification. Study modules covering areas such as cognition, neuroscience, development, personality and social psychology. Neuroscience modules are taught by staff from the internationally renowned Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics.

In the final year, students can explore the areas that interest them most through a wide range of optional modules. The final-year project will allow students to immerse themselves further into the field of neuroscience by conducting research supervised by an expert in the field. Modules are regularly revised in order to incorporate the latest developments in neuroscience, ensuring that students' knowledge and skills are always up to date.

Students will have the opportunity to gain professional experience through work placements during the second year of the course. These can take place at an outside organization such as a charity, or within the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics. Alternatively, students can volunteer as a research assistant on a range of projects within the Department.
