Post Graduate Certificate in Education - Primary with Special Educational Needs (5-11) (2VD7)

Develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of working with children with disabilities, and gain experience in mainstream and special school settings, with the PGCE Primary with Special Educational Needs.

The Postgraduate Certificate Education (PGCE) Primary (5–11) with Special Educational Needs Pathway leads to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), qualifying students to teach children aged five to 11 with disabilities.

This pathway will enable students to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of working with children with disabilities, within mainstream and special school settings. Students will undertake placements in mainstream schools with additional resources units, as well as special schools. 

Students will have plenty of opportunities throughout the PGCE to apply their developing skills to real-life settings. Reading has strong partnerships with over 300 local schools and are renowned for their relationships with these partner schools.
