3.5-Term Pathway - Undergraduate Foundation Program - Life Sciences - Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Nutrition and Food Science (with Professional Training)

At ONCAMPUS Reading, students are provided with the opportunity to prepare for degree study and are assured progression to a variety of undergraduate degrees at the University of Reading. This program is specifically designed for international students who have completed their senior secondary education, with the aim of helping them gain entry into undergraduate studies at the University of Reading. Upon successful completion of the University Foundation Program with the required level of achievement in all academic areas and the necessary English language score, students will automatically transition to an undergraduate program at the University of Reading. The University Foundation Program is set at NQF level 3, which is equivalent to A level standard in the United Kingdom.

Most programs last for one academic year, divided into three terms consisting of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will participate in 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

The role of nutritionists within the food industry is increasingly important, as consumers grow more aware of the importance of healthy eating. The BSc Nutrition and Food Science course at ONCAMPUS Reading will help students understand the processes of food production and how these can be modified to create healthier products. It combines training in the science of nutrition with areas of food science and consumer studies. Additionally, the course is accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN), and upon graduation, students will be eligible to apply to become a registered associate nutritionist with the AfN via the direct entry pathway, providing a clear and respected marker of their status as a nutrition professional.
