Cyber security is a global concern which impacts every society that relies on being digitally connected. The ever-growing concern of cyber-crime spans across the globe and requires enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who can rise to the complex challenges of cyber security.

On this course, created in line with national standards, students will learn the anatomy of computing devices and networks, while working with cutting-edge technologies including AI, machine learning and data analytics. Modules on this course are delivered in an applied and practical way mirroring real-world contexts  where students will learn by producing artefacts of increasing significance and complexity.

The focus of this course is to ensure students are ready to enter the tech industry on graduation with a clear focus around developing a practical portfolio through collaborative teaching, teamwork, and a final project that students can show to potential employers.

The University of Roehampton London is a member of several industry academic programmes including AWS Academy, Cisco Academy, Microsoft Azure and the Splunk Academic Programme, through which students may work towards completing industry recognised certifications alongside their degree. Students will also have opportunities to network with industry professionals through student employability events, guest speakers on campus and technical meetups across London (e.g. the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP)).

This course offers an optional professional placement year which means students will be able to work a paid role in industry while also earning recognised credits towards your degree. Through CV workshops, mock interviews and industry links, the University’s employability team can help support you in finding and securing a work placement.
