About Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Engineering - Mechanical Engineering
The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with good English-language skills. It supplements immersive classes taught in English with just the right amount of support.
As a student in the Academic Accelerator, learners will receive:
- The right amount of support for their academic and English-speaking needs
- A full year’s worth of college credits
- Access to courses exclusively for international students
- English-language help with words they need to know for their classes
- A mix of classes with international and the United States students.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree with a major in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering is concerned with the design, development, and manufacture of both mechanical and thermal systems. These systems may vary from the internal combustion engine to power automobiles and airplanes to the use of computer vision in biomedical and automated manufacturing applications.
The objective of the mechanical engineering undergraduate program is to produce graduates who will:
- Lead successful practicing careers or be engaged in effective advanced graduate studies
- Establish themselves as responsible and ethical citizen engineers
- Challenge themselves to innovate and collaborate in evolving work environments.
