Bachelor of Science - Public Health

In the Bachelor of Science Public Health major at University of South Dakota, students will gain the skills and competencies needed in public health and to assess the health needs of various populations. Students will learn to plan and evaluate programs, communicate and advocate for health promotion, and serve as a leader in their community. In the School of Health Sciences, students will study and practice alongside students from a variety of disciplines, which will prepare them to be an effective collaborator and leader. Paired with faculty mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities, these experiences will set students up for success in their future career.

The needs for a public health workforce continue to expand. Students will graduate well positioned to meet these needs, and be ready to work in any of the five general areas of public health: biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, health policy and management, and social and behavioral health.
