2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Master of Science - Research Methods in Psychology

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Program is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The program will allow students to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master’s degree studies.

The duration of the Level 6 program is two semesters. Each semester consists of a minimum of 13 teaching weeks. Students will be expected to timetable self-study hours in addition to the classroom-based hours. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the program and to allow candidates to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate program.

The Master of Science in Research Methods in Psychology allows graduates to improve both their basic and advanced research skills. They will be working with internationally renowned researchers in the School of Psychology. Students will also be mentored by an expert in the field when they carry out research, culminating in dissertation. They will learn how to conduct studies, describe their findings and write up the results.
