2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Master of Science - Statistics with Applications in Medicine

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Program is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The program will allow students to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master’s degree studies.

The duration of the Level 6 program is two semesters. Each semester consists of a minimum of 13 teaching weeks. Students will be expected to timetable self-study hours in addition to the classroom-based hours. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the program and to allow candidates to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate program.

Graduates will develop their problem-solving skills and knowledge of statistical methods on this Master of Science in Statistics with Applications in Medicine at the University of Southampton. They will learn to collect and analyze medical data, and gain transferable skills such as research methodology and programming statistical software.
