About 3-Term Pathway - International Foundation Year in Business and Social Sciences - Continue to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Accounting

Program Description

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Strathclyde followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Strathclyde. In the international foundation year, students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into students' intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

The International Foundation Year in Business & Social Sciences will familiarize students with a wide area of study. They will develop their critical thinking skills, creativity, analytical and team working skills, providing them with the most crucial skills required as a successful graduate.

This BA Hons in Accounting allows students to study accounting in combination with a range of business subjects.

In the majority of combinations, accounting is fully accredited for entry to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Students may be offered possible exemptions to other professional bodies e.g. Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

An in-depth understanding of economics and law will complement the accounting studies and prove valuable to employers.

Students will learn about the preparation, presentation and interpretation of financial information. They’ll also learn how to read and interpret accounting information. Students will also explore how accounting can be developed to meet the needs of society and provide information to investors.
