Program Description
This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Strathclyde followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Strathclyde. In the international foundation year, students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into students' intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.
The International Foundation Year in Business & Social Sciences will familiarize students with a wide area of study. They will develop their critical thinking skills, creativity, analytical and team working skills, providing them with the most crucial skills required as a successful graduate.
Software engineers design and develop large, complex systems. These include the systems used in vehicles, phones, large-scale financial systems and secure web and medical applications.
As a software engineer, students will need a good understanding of software, hardware, communication technologies and strong design and team skills. They'll also need to understand the impact of the development strategies of different systems.
The Computer Science courses combine theory and practice. Many of the core subjects are similar in the early years, which means it’s possible for them to transfer between courses.
