Program Description
The English Language Preparation program is a chance to improve your English language skills before beginning your pathway program. This program will you develop the required language skills to be successful in your intended pathway and degree program. Depending on your current level of English, you will study between (1 term) & (2 terms) of English.
This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Strathclyde followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Strathclyde. In your international foundation year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.
The Pre-Masters in Business and Social Sciences will introduce you to the world of business and the application/theory of social science in everyday life. You will learn about the different political systems around the world and begin to understand how international issues are connected.
Studying a BA Economics & Finance degree at the University of Strathclyde Business School, you'll be learning at a pioneering internationally-renowned academic organisation. We were awarded Times Higher Education UK Business School of the Year in 2016.
Following the recent global economic crisis, economics is more important and relevant than ever. Decisions on money, banking, interest rates, taxation and government spending affect us all, with global consequences.
Economics aims to understand the activities of the different agents in the economy – consumers, producers and the government – and how they all fit together.
The Finance aspect of this degree will give you the skills for a career in financial services, such as banking, investment management, pension fund management, and insurance, as well as a wide range of business organisations. It will also be invaluable in helping you make personal financial decisions.
