Program Description
Students will be introduced to a variety of transferable skills, and will study several different topics such as prejudice and discrimination, moral judgement and emotions. The skills they learn at the University of Surrey will help them become an inspired global professional.With a strong relevance to current social issues, students will delve into the intriguing theories, methods and evidence-based research within social psychology. Throughout their studies, students will explore topics such as prejudice and discrimination, moral judgement and emotions. Other areas they will cover include exploring how individuals and groups interact to construct and maintain identities, and the links between psychology and social change, families and relationships.
This course provides students with an awareness of the historical and philosophical background of social psychology. They will also be provided with an in-depth understanding of contemporary approaches, as well as how to conduct research in the field through methods and techniques such as video image processing and eye-tracking.
